ANTROPIC ARRANGEMENTS IN THE ROMANIAN SIDE OF THE PRUT BASIN
Abstract
The Prut River is the last affluent, in the big category, of Danube, on the left side, with 28396 kmp (total surface), 10970 kmp in the Romania side, the river had a total lenght of 989 km (in Romania 716 km). The importance of this hydrographical basin is due to the geopolitical aspects too, the main river of this basin being border between three states: Romania-Moldavian Republic- Ukraine. The temporal distribution of water resources is one of the mean tasks for the scientists in hydrological and ecological field. In the Prut basin, due to a particularly climatic conditions and to one of the topographically properties, for stopping the negative effects of inundations and for keeping a bigger water quantity in the maximum flood too, was accomplished a large number of artificial lakes of “ponds ” type.
